Well not really water resistant but an attempt anyway.  Very interesting case design with the back clamped to the top with gold brackets.  In between the compression to the gasket to the crystal when the back is clamped to the bezel is supposed to seal the watch.  At least that seems to be the theory but it’s not marked water proof or water resistant anywhere so I think they know they failed.  Still an interesting design and an attractive watch.  Between the clamps on each end and the case back that fits deep into the bezel the designers ended up using a lot of gold.  I’ve never seen another one quite like it.  The case measures 35mm from lug tip to lug tip and 23 mm wide without the crown.  The case is in very good to excellent condition with light scratches but no dings or dents.  The original dial is excellent with an even patina and a  few age spots that are difficult to see with the naked eye.  The 17 jewel Swiss made Tavanes movement runs and keeps time but has not been serviced recently.  The movement was originally designed to have center seconds but the seconds pinion and hand are missing.  Not readily noticeable to the casual observer and it does not affect the operation or accuracy of the watch./  The watch is fitted with a new crocodile grain leather strap.
