Rare 50s vintage chronograph with the Valjoux 77 movement.  Paul Breguette was a private label for the Kaye Jewelry Store chain.  Their watches used high grade movements such as this Valjoux 77, many used Girard Perragaux movements.  This watch is similar to a Heuer of the same era and probably came out of the same factory.  With the Heuer name this is a $1200 - $1500 watch.  The chrome plated top, steel snap back case measures 40mm from lug tip to lug tip and 33mm in diameter without the original crown and pushers.  The case is in good condition with minor scratches and some pitting of the case top.  The dial is substantially original but it looks like the hour numbers have been repainted black, the registers, Paul Breguette signature and tachymeter scale are original.  The hands have been re-lumed some time in the distant past.  The high domed acrylic crystal is clear with minor scratches.  The Valjoux 77 movement  is a manual wind pillar wheel chronograph with 17 jewels, a screw poised balance and Incabloc shock protection.  The watch was serviced recently keeps time with all chronograph functions working and resetting as they should. The watch is fitted with a brown lizard skin band and is ready to wear.
