Kelbert Stainless Steel Stepped Case Early Automatic

Unique stepped case Kelbert automatic with2-tone dial.  Kelbert is a little known watch company that made chronographs timers and automatic watches in the 1940s and 50s.  This particular watch dates to the 1950s and has a sleek solid stainless steel snap back case with a stepped bezel and graceful curved lugs.  The case measures 39mm from lug tip to lug tip and 32mm in diameter without the original recessed crown.  The case is in very good to excellent condition with minor scratches and the original milling marks still visible on the sides.  The original 2-tone silvered dial has subsidiary seconds and luminous Arabic numerals.  The dial is in fair condition with noticeable patina and staining but still looks good on the wrist.  The 17jewel Swiss made bump wind automatic movement has a beautiful red gold fire gilt finish, Incabloc shock protection and a screw poised balance.  The watch runs fine and keeps time but has not been serviced recently.  The watch is fitted with a vintage brown leather strap.
